Web programming
Theres now a wide range of aspects of a web site which entail programming. Theres computational logic in the way style sheets are constructed and more in the web site scripting language, Javascript.
Behind the scenes there is code written in languages like PHP for web pages, and a host of programs written either to run in the web browser of the person visiting a web site or as scripts (including CGI scripts) on the web server. Interacting with databases typically adds an extra layer to this.
For the most part we think in terms of web sites based on Unix, which tends to be best for stability and security, and provides a friendly programming environment.
Sanity argues for keeping the computing of a web site as simple as possible, but there is a range of computing skill on offer at Silverfen: available to make web sites as effective as possible.
